An early October re-visit October 6, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Megan @ 1:31 pm

Today i am going to do a multiple intelligence tes with the kids!! And am super excited about it! I found one that was about grade 5 appropriate, and I just reworded it for my kids. I have no idea how it will go, or even what kind of info it will provide. These kids are still pretty little, and some questions wont really apply to them as much. But it’s worth a shot right? ANY data will be great -if I find out they are all visual learners, then awesome! If the test shows that they answered with the yes smiley face for every question, then I will take that too. I am just really excited to get a picture of how these kids learn and what they like to do! I feel awful that I haven’t done that yet. But after the october break, we are going to do Student of the Week! and (finally) get to know these kids.

I was rereading some of my posts because I have been getting some feedback from people (thank-you!) And have noticed a  frustrated tone in many many of my posts. This frustration isn’t the only thing that I am feeling! Or is it?  If I somehow could do an “emotional” wordle on my blog, would frustration be the biggest word? Thats a scary thought. I hope it isn’t. I need to stay positive and happy. And I am. Seriously. I am happy and challenged, wich is what I want.

When art was going crazy, I reminded myself that one of the reasons I came up here was to be challenged. And am I getting this? Yes. Did I want easy street? No.  That put my day in a whole new light, and I sort of relaxed into each challenge and took the time to flow with it.  I felt better.  I need to remember that teaching is about relationships. That is my priority here.

Remember: “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget hoe you made them feel”

Ask: “How did I make my kids feel today?”

  1. Stephen King Says:

    Hey Megan,

I’m not sure how you made your students feel today, but you made my day. I love seeing teachers reflecting on what is going right and what is not. It shows you are learning and trying to to your “informed” best. What more can be asked of you. Keep on with the reflections; you will make sense of all this because you are reflecting.

On the emotional side – I think we all drift to frustration from time to time, but knowing that will not help is a sign of real maturity. Hope the new day is a good one!
